Our Team.
Ford Strei
Owner and Founder
Ford has lived in Austin since 1975 and has been in the construction business almost as long. He went to high school at Lanier High and attended college in Austin before finding his passion in carpentry work. He began his career doing interior cabinetry and finish work and slowly progressed to remodels and large additions. In 1991, Ford partnered with Patrick Welsome to become general contractors, and together they started S&W Construction. In 2011, Ford expanded the company and changed the name from S&W Construction to Ford Strei Builders.
Adam Freeborg
Project Manager
Adam Freeborg’s career in construction started 18 years ago in carpentry on high-end commercial projects. After 11 years with his previous employer, he became self employed in order to broaden his experience to include general contracting and field experience in all the trades – finishing, cabinetry flooring, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. This diverse experience has served him well since joining the Ford Strei Builder’s team in 2013.
Stan Schock
Project Manager
Stan is a 3rd generation carpenter and son of a home improvement general contractor who grew up in residential construction.
Stan took the family business over in 1984 after college and ran it till 2003 in Houston. In 2003 he moved to Austin and took a position as a custom home project manager in the Highland Lakes region and is proud to represent Ford Strei Builder’s today.
Mike Collins
Owner/Partner
Mike Collins comes from a long lineage of tradesmen. Working from a young age in a family-owned construction company, Mike has been able to acquire a broad scope of skills and management experience throughout his career. Mike has experience in commercial as well as residential construction and has utilized this experience owning and operating his own construction business prior to a successful tenure in a corporate construction firm before joining Ford Strei Builders.
